6MT Swap on 2nd Gen RL
6MT Swap on 2nd Gen RL
There has been a thread - 6MT Swap on 2nd Gen TL.

Do you think that we can adapt the 2010 TL- SHAWD 6MT into our RL's ? Probably the MT cost arround 4K + all the extra parts + labor. And a tuner shop able to do it.
It will be sweet to keep our agressive Looks + performance to out look the 45K- 2010 TL with a 6K-8K 6MT Swap....
'm I a dreamer ?...

As Ken mentioned, keep in mind there is more than the mechanicals to consider. The software for the ECU and SHAWD system are likely not compatible as is. Whether or not that can be modified will be difficult to ascertain. The SHAWD of the MT TL and the SHAWD of the RL are not the same system. Further the programming logic that governs how SHAWD is not the same nor the input from yaw sensors the same as they are tuned for different vehicles of different mass and react differently in the same geometry.
Short version, do not assume TL logic will retrofit into the RL, even if the mechanical will bolt on.
If it is a project car, cool beans. If it is your daily driver, and expensive risk.
Last, I would assume anyone doing so is out of warranty or will surrender any warranty support.
