Did you know we have a tow hook??
Unfortunately, my wife hit a huge pothole and destroyed two fairly new Michelins. She called me at work to tell me she had a flat 10 minutes up the road from my office. Being a gentlemen, I offered to come and put on the spare rather than having to wait for AAA. While driving there she called and told me that she *thinks* she actually has two flats. In my nicest voice possible I asked her to please confirm (in my head I was saying $#@*).
Yes - two flats!!! I told her to phone AAA and tell them we need a flatbed.
I arrived to look over the damage and to offer my shoulder to lean on. As usual, the AAA truck took 20 minutes but lucklily it was a gorgeous sunny day.
Anyway - the AAA man asked me for the tow hook. I was like "the what?". He then suggested it may be in my tool bag. I started to panic. Luckily for me - it was stowed safely in the spare tire tool assembly area. Phew! He then pryed open a small cover on my left front bumper and screwed it in. I was surprised to only see one. He had to keep adjusting the steering wheel as he dragged the car up the ramp.
I just wanted to share the news in case you ever need a tow. This is a very good thing too. Back in college I had a Chevy Z24 with a very low plastic spoiler. When that was placed on a flatbed before, the cable nearly snapped off the spoiler. Acura engineers did a good job with this feature.
Two Michelins mounted and balanced $620. Free tire rotation to put new tires on front. Luckily wheels were not bent but I think one picked up some outer edge scratches. I will submit a claim to my town but will not hold my breath for any sort of reimbursement.

Hey Bob, good job keeping your cool with the wife, I'm sure you earned points with that. I think most of us knew about the tow hook, but hopefully we will never need to use it. It is a good reminder though and to some of the new guys this might even be some new news.
Yes, we do have a tow hook. I had to use it once when my RL had to be towed to the dealer last year for electrical problems.
Count yourself lucky! GM, in its great benevolence, decided none was necessary on the CTS or CTS-V. I found that out the hard way when I got a flat in the dead of winter.
