Cool Experience today...

A bit OT, but I hope Bob will humor me.

I was on my way home from work tonight driving on M14 in SE Michigan. As I'm going along I notice a copper orange NSX merging onto the highway. It was a later model as it didn't have the retractable lights.

I'm in the left lane and had moved over into the middle lane as I saw him gaining on me in the left lane. Then he just hung back. After a while I signaled and moved back into the left lane so I could pass the car in front of me.

He then moved back over to the middle lane and then to the right lane and passed both me and the car in front of me.

As I passed that car and went to settle back in the middle lane, I notice that he begins to slow down. As I catch up to him, I see him look over at me and he gives me a .

I thought that was

I think it was because you signalled, it's such a rarity that he wanted to thank you!

These guys are too tough on you, Hawks - I agree it was a cool gesture. He obviously admires good cars.

I try to do this on occasion--it makes any owner feel great. I think it makes anyone's day when a complete stranger admires your car; return the favor!

That's OK, I know I was being kind of a dork. I just thought it was cool that a guy in an NSX was giving me the thumbs up, it should have been the other way around.

It was a pretty sweet car, it was obviously modded.

My bad; wasn't pointing fingers. I was just making a general statement--everyone appreciates a compliment, and you were complimented. That's pretty cool and definitely It would be nice if more people went out of their way to do this.

It's good to know that there are some Acura loyalists out there--after some time in "off topic, car talk" one would think no one likes the brand anymore.

It's been said before--this car is one of the best kept secrets in the automotive world.

It was probably because the RL took over the spot of "most powerful engine Acura ever produced"...before the RL, it was the NSX.

The ultra rare imola orange NSX, very nice! The guy you ran into also just picked up his second NSX. He's from Plymouth Michigan.

Wow how did you find him? Plymouth is off the same exit as mine. We're practically neighbors.

It must've been him.
