Clock settings!?

I am new to the Acura world. Traded in my 04 Nissan 350Z touring for a gorgeous CPO brilliant pearl white 06 RL. I am very happy with my purchase. I am awaiting for Acura to call me in because as a stipulation of my purchase I told them I want the 2010 Nav disk upgrade free. also All weather mats and a couple of other things.

I am having one problem that is very annoying and hopefully one of you guys can help me. The clock in my car is one hour behind. I tried to adjust it through the settings and everytime i shut off and turn on the car it goes back to being an hour behind. I tried turning off auto time zone and auto daylight. Turned off the car and on again and bam clock still behind an hour and the settings are back to being on again. If anyone knows what I can do about this or if going to the dealer is needed please let me know. Thanks

Ed

PS: also need to know if the 2010 disk will update the software that runs the nav system itself as well as the maps or just the maps and if it will fix the problem or if there is a deeper issue with the settings not saving.

I think you have the original 4.3x Navi disk. The new DST was fixed with 4.6x The dealer should actually be able to do this fix for you for free, although I think you will find a 4.8x navi disk a worthy upgrade from 4.3x. Be aware that you will lost the male voice if you do upgrade.

You have to shut off the auto setting. Then reset the clock. The programming is not in line with the current DSL standard. The new disk will be.

Unhappy

I had the same problem last week. (NEW OWNER - 2006 RL) It seems that once I programmed the remote, it started working. I'm still on the original 2006 ver of the NAV disc.

Agreed. The Fob must be linked for the personalized settings to be 'remembered' by the RL.

Virtually anything you adjust in the NAVI, Stereo, Climate Control, Address Books, etc. is considered a 'Personalized' setting....which links independently to the Driver 1 or Driver 2 Fobs. Hence each driver can have completely different attributes of all of the above.

Your RL is simply defaulting to factory settings since it is not 'remembering' your Fob (Driver#) settings. If you have linked your Fob before, un-link it and try again.

Then follow the instructions above poster stated and deselect the Auto setting for DST. You will have to manually adjust the clock in Spring and Fall until you acquire a newer NAVI disc. I believe NAVI v6.3 or newer has the newer DST settings and will automatically adjust the clock for you.

Look in the owners manual...there are combinations of buttons to push to link and relink. You should unlink both, the relink just to be sure you got them both....I have no access to the manual right now, but it is good for you to read that part....

direction is actually on the remote itself also. But basically push lock and unlock button at the same time and the lite will blink once or twice meaning link/unlink.
