Chips on Grill

Anyone have rock chips on your OEM grill. If so, what have you done to fix them? Strip/re-finish/Re-chrome? replace? Speciifally, on the bottom or top portion of the grill. What is it made out of? thanks

Synth - how bad are the chips? I don't suppose you could shoot a pic and show us?

I really don't know what the grille is made out of, but if it's like most of them it's plastic. So I doubt refininishing it is a good option.

Other than buying a new grille - or maybe getting one from a salvage yard - I'm wondering if it's not something you can just live with it.

I was gonna say, it's probably plastic. I remember when I first saw the production RL, and touched those inserts within the grille, they were soft plastic that you could actually jiggle, probably for pedestrian safety.

I've seen some guys on the TL side paint the outer portion of the grill to match the car finish. The center is left alone or refinished to original. 04-06 TL grills are not chrome except the A in the middle. I don't know where your grill is chipped but it's just something to consider.

Just wondering, on one of the RL's I've seen, it had some chips on the top and bottom portion of the grill... may look cool painting it to match the body.

Maybe someone out there can photo shop the grill or outer part of the grill to match the RLs color. Anyone want to try?

I wonder how much the actual grill costs from Acura? Anyone have an OEM price list or link?

More than likely replacing it is the easiest way to go..

I'm not sure which piece you guys are looking for... but here's the front grille.

Hope that helps!

< Edit. > Looks like it's going to be a $300 part! < /Edit. >
