Check SH-AWD
Check SH-AWD
I bought a used 2006 Acura RL and love it. Had to replace front struts and that is it so far. Was driving the car and about 3 times a week the Check SH-AWD light comes on and as soon as I turn the key off and back on it clears. I decided to check the display that shows the four wheels and how much power is going to each wheel. When the indicator light came on the front wheels had the power and the back wheels did not. I have ad the rear differential fluid changed after the first time it came on. I took it back to the dealer I bought it from and the mechanic said he drove it for 15 minutes and the indicator never came on. It came on for me under different conditions. On a 2 lane road and on a highway, both were dry. I saw a posting that said it could be sensors. Does any one have any ideas?
95% of the time in the RL, that light comes on when the battery is old or the alternator is about to die. Have the alternator tested at a parts store. If it passes, replace your battery. If that doesn't fix it, then you could have a rear diff issue.
The battery can test good and still be low for the RL. It's happened more times than I can count. The fact that your alternator checked out leaves me at 95% it's your battery, and 5% it's an actual rear diff issue.
I would personally either get a new battery or try to swap in a known good one. To debug the rear diff, we need the error code.

I have a bad sensor that misbehaves when it's below freezing outside. 06RL. When it happens, the SAWD disengages and it goes to only front wheel drive. When the car is warmed-up, I can turn it off and on again and message is gone and the SAWD is engaged again. I've resisted replacing the sensor ($$$) but maybe it's bad for the SAWD?

That points to an accelerator device malfunction, but I would still get your alternator checked.

When I go around certain bends and not accelerating it trips the warning light. When I am on the hiway and tramp it to the floor it goes off. When I am decreasing in speed it goes off. But not every time.
Now the light gets triggered under different circumstances. If I shut off the engine it goes away, but comes back under different conditions and it is frustrating. I read somewhere it could be 3 sensors, but I stopped in an auto parts place and they could not find them. I have had the battery and alternator tested and passed. If someone knows how to fix the issue I would be happy. Also the info center says it's an Error code of 75.

Is it possible your diff fluid is low and it throws the AWD in limp mode on corners because the car is sensing the fluid is low?

This. How old is the battery?
Yes. Back to post 6.

Get under the rear of the car and look for wiring harnesses on the rear diff. Unplug them, and check for corrosion/dirt/loose wiring or anything that could be causing a bad connection. Clean them up and plug them back in.
007 is right about the battery. In fact, he's right about most things RL and you generally should listen to him.
One other possibility worth considering: Your rear diff has TWO fluid chambers, a front and a rear. The front one isn't immediately obvious, and it can be overlooked by mechanics who change only the rear fluid and then think they've done the entire job. I had this happen to me, and corrupted front fluid caused the light to come on after every start until it was changed. Subsequent driving dislodged the resulting crud from the diff, and the light cleared. Something cheap to check, at least.

check your brake sensor. have someone step on the brakes and see if the brake light is on.
