Changing One tire only quesiton (Urgent)
Hello Guys,
I had a Slip belt on my right front tire with about 19,000 miles on them since April 2010. Michelin decided to replace the tires through Sears free of cost last week friday. I will only have to pay for the labor in mounting & balancing. I am now reading the owners manual that states to change 2 front or 2 rears as a pair if all (4) cannot be changed. Should I have to foot the cost on the additional tire or should I call Michelin and explain the position based on the oweners manual. Will only replacing one tire on the from affect the car driving or AWD system.

Why post this in two places? I replied to this in your other post. Please only post the same question once.

Burning Brakes
depends on how badly worn the tires are, could screw up the awd drive system if the tires aren't turning at the same rate. Generally, it's not good to just replace one tire.

Correction* from should be "front" and "Tire" (1) not tires.
They only sent one tire because only one was defective...but should i have to foot the bill for the other front tire to make it even....It was not my fault to begin with now i have to spend money on another tire. The other three have more side wall wear than center wear...plenty of rubber in the middle.
Thanks.

Check your other post and put more air in your tires.

I'd raise this question directly to Michelin and ask for two. After all, it was the failure of their one that made the expense necessary. The worst they can say is No.
