Sometimes when I get in the car and try to turn the ignition knob, it stays at position 0 and won't let me turn. When the knob is pushed in, the steering column comes out to the memory position but I can't proceed to position I or II or to start the car.

After a few tries, it starts working again.
I tried searching the site but could not come up with a similar scenario.

Any ideas?

1. make sure the FOB is in the car and not near an electronic device
2. make sure the steering wheel is not locked (try turning the wheel while starting it)
3. use the FOB to lock and unlock the car to make sure it registered a driver 1or 2

 

Happens to me occasionally maybe like once a month. I think it may be when I have my fob next to the key in my pocket. I usually just take it out of my pocket and then I can turn the ignition knob.

 

yep, if the FOB is next to any electronics you could have this issue.

 

I dealt with this for almost a year. New fob batteries and a switch to fob 2 later, I finally found out. Stupid phone.
