CA tint law
CA tint law
I'm planning on getting my windows tinted. Is the tint law in California 70% for the front? A lot of people seem to think it's 30-35%.

Typically you are not suppose to have tint on the front driver and passenger side doors.
But you can get away with it ONLY if the officer are cool about it. But you are not suppose tint on the fronts.

yup u can get pulled over for having that on your front I have 35 and I only got hit once or twice but that was because the cops had nothing else to do and they had to get there quota for the month...
Usually I roll pass cops no problems

I'd say just tint it, it's better than having UV rays mutating your DNA right? I for one, dislike the sun very much, so I have like 30s or something (the second darkest from limo) on the front, and I have to say, I'm happy I have them.
My sis has 20 on the front but she has a note so if she gets pulled over she just shows the note and thats it..
I will never take my front tint off dont care how many tickets I get I want to be protected from the sun

my friend got a point on his record. Because of his tint and being to low he has gotten pulled over about 10 times for the same thing. But the police out here were we live just dont like the fact that we have cars that our lowered so they find other things to get us for too
California law is pretty much no tint in the front, and whatever the hell you want in the back.
I personally have 5% all-around (windshield excluded) and I rarely get pulled over. I also have a doctor's note that has saved my ass a few times.
Whenever I have to drive someone else's car in the sun, I get so uncomfortable since I'm so used to my tint blocking out all of the sun's rays...I could never go back to driving a car without tinted windows.

No tint in the fronts is CA law. I got pulled over waaay back when, but was able to get it signed off without taking it off by going to the Marshal on a drizzly day, parking the car, opening the moonroof shada and pointing out how the rear windows were dark so the fronts must be free of tint. Eventually detinted the whole car to avoid the hassle.
When I bought by pre-owned '95 Legend, I made the dealer de-tint the car.
I shant do aftermarket tint any more.
However, I like the idea of a doctor's note to excuse variety of lawbreaking activities!

Yeah no tint in the front in CA. I have 50% in the front 20% in the back. Never had a problem, thank gawd. Just as long as they can see your face, MOST of the time they won't trip. My friend had 35% up front and 20% in the back. Shit was dark enough that he got pulled over soo many times, he ended up just taking the fronts off. Not worth it if you are in Cali. They will just keep pulling you over and over. Money wasted IMO. But its your call, hope this helps...

Try to find someone who works at the doctor's office and get a note saying your skin are sensitive to the sun. Won't hurt to ask. I have 2 friends who really have sensitive skin and have a doctor's permission.
I have a 60% ceramic all around. It's very subtle and my tint guy said he's never had anyone with that tint come back for removal.
Since it's ceramic it blocks as much sun as a traditional 30-40% tint and it looks great. I would advise to do something like this in CALI so you don't end up getting a ticket and having to peel off your tint.

right...
I got pulled over and received a ticket for my front tints from the CHP a couple of times. One time I took them off and got the ticket signed off and the other time I paid the fine becuase the cost to replace was just a little less than the cost of the ticket. So I just paid the ticket and didn't have the hassle. No tint is allowed on the front driver's and passenger side. Funny the only ones that care about it are the CHP, not the local police. I have had tints on all 4's since ~2001. Got 2 tix in this time.
yup I got that already front tint and no license plate... Threw my license plate back on and going to re do my tint now. Im thinking 20 in the back and keeping my 35 in the front
