A/C "clicking"

I just got my car a couple weeks ago. I never noticed this sound when I was test driving the car, but the A/C makes a noticeable clicking sound when the fan is running. It's subtle...but it's there. as fan speed increases, so does the sound.

i'm not terribly worried, as the A/C blows cold, and the car is CPO bumper to bumper for 4 more years....so whatever it is, they will have teo fix it...but i'm just curious if this is some sort of problem others have noticed....so I can point the service guys in the right direction, or if this is a "new one" for you all?

thanks.

not sure if it's related, but is the sound emitting from the passenger's side? Could be something bouncing around on the cabin air filter. It's very easy to check and replace.

THANKS!! you know, that was a great idea, so I went and promptly pulled out the cabin air filter... it's brand new. My CPO paperowrk showed that they replaced the cabin filter, and I believe them - it looks 100% clean. No dirt on it at all. I left the cabin filter and cover OUT and just started the car with the glove box open and that cavity exposed.... you can still hear the sound. it's coming from teh fan mechanism that it isnide.

i turned the car off, let the fan stop, and stuck myhand in there and manually spun the fan and I can hear the sound - it's either a fan blade just BARELY scraping something, or it's some kind of binding/scraping in the fan's bearings? but it always happens at the same point in the rotation..as if itscrapes on something as the fan rotates...kind of like the playing card in a kids bicycle spoke.... only in my fan.... you can hear it quite loud now that I have everything opened up.

it looks like something needs to come out, be inspected, and maybe repalced. this is the nice part about buying a CPO car. When my car goes in to have the spoiler installed - the techs can fix this too - as part of my CPO coverage.

I'll report back in this thread what they decided the culprit was in the event anyone else has this same issue. thanks agon B0n3 for the suggestion - at least I ruled out an easy fix.
