Hello all, i just registered today but i always surf this forum for sometime now as a guest. Anyways i got a few questions since me and my wife plans to purchase the RL, 2nd option is the TL. If we bought the 2009 RL Model is there a new RL design coming out in 2010/2011?

the next version is at least a year away. I say 'at least' because unless Acura really steps it up with the next RL, there wont be a replacement for this model at all. The new TL has essentially every feature of the RL for less money. The current RL sells only about 200 units a month right now in the US, so its not a money making car for them here in the states. They've got to really want to compete with $50k+ cars on the next RL, which means expect prices to go up over the current model.

If you wait another month or so, Acura will probably bring back dealer cash incentives. Last year there was 4k available, and the previous year it was 3.5k. However, those promo deals are usually ended by Sept and with dealers ordering so few RLs for their lot, most of the cars will be gobbled up by savy buyers before then.
So if you want a new RL, consider shifting you purchase back by about 2 months.

 

Are they even building more RLs? A couple of weeks ago, my dealer told me they already got and sold their entire RL allotment (3).

2007AcuraRL has outlined the essential facts of the situation. We are all anxiously awaiting the 3G RL, which is reportedly to debut for the 2011 MY. I don't think there are any changes for 2010 as none have been announced as yet, though we won't know that for sure until September. 2009 quantities have been severely curtailed because of poor sales, so even the 2009s are more difficult to find.

If you want an RL now and can't find a 2009, you might set your sights on a used newer one, or you may just spring for a SH-AWD TL tech, which is 8/10 of the RL for less money....while it's a very compelling value at this time, it's butt ugly (IMHO). Another option is to search far afield for a reasonably priced 2009.
