Keyless Access issue

Ever since I've had the car, it's had this intermittent, (from what I can tell) completely random issue where the keyless access (specifically, the unlocking mechanism) stops working.

It will work fine for weeks, or a month at a time, then randomly it will stop working. It always works fine when I lock it, but every now and then it just doesn't work when I try to unlock the car; I'll have to unlock the car with my key fob, I'll drive to where I'm going, park the car, lock it using keyless system, and when I come back to the car x amount of hours later, it unlocks with the keyless system just fine.

It's been to the dealer twice, the first time they replaced the lock actuator, the second time they replaced the entire door handle assembly thinking it was a sensor issue.

It's still happening intermittently, and the dealership is telling me they're a) stumped on what's causing the problem, b) can't fix anything unless it's broken (i.e. they can't properly diagnose wtf is going on).

I've been supremely disappointed with this dealership, and I'm just going to have to suck it up and drive the 50 miles to a different Acura dealership.

At any rate, I was wondering if anyone else on here has had this problem, or has any ideas on what could cause it.

When you put your hand in the handle and it deosn't unlock; did you try using the key fob by pressing the lock button, then try again by putting your hand in the door handle to see if it will unlock? It has happen to me when I got my car used last November.

there was a problem with the door handles in 05, but the replacement should have fixed that. Also, I think most of the problems were with locking not unlocking.
Are you sure you are not grabbing the handle in such a way that you are touching the lock dimple at the same time?

Actually you really don't have to put your whole hand in the handle. You can actually put one or two fingers in the handle area to unlock the car.

I usually tuck my thumb and slide it into the handle; I never touch anywhere on the outside of the handle, and definitely not near the locking sensor.

replace the handle

I had my door handles replaced twice now on my 05 for both locking and unlocking functions not working. This is a common issue as searching this site will return many results.

If it didnt work right day one after it was replaced I would say that there may be something else wrong. But when I had my replaced the first time my driver side was dead again within a month and needed the second. This was a few months ago and has been fine since then.

If you replaced it at acura out of pocket...I am sure acura has some type of guarantee on there work.

On locking and unlocking technigues... I use a thumb to lock holding my hand in fashion. To unlock I use 2 or 3 fingers around the handle.

Does it act up with both remotes?

It was replaced under warranty.

It works fine with both remotes, it's only the unlocking aspect of the keyless that doesn't work sometimes.

I have an '07 and I notice when my door handle has been wet from rain or washing I can't lock the car. The problem goes away a little later (I assume when it dries out).

Mine was also intermittin as well door would not unlock or lock . You can have a technician at the dealership look at the key fob. Mine was also doing the same thing then my keyfob stopped working after the dealership replaced the fob evrything works fine now.
