Hello Guys i was wondering what is the best air freshners out there for the money. I love the smell of air freshners in the car not the strawberry and cherry flavors* stuff. I was wondering whats the best product out there for the money that will last and keep the RL smelling like new. I was researching : auto air ionizer, zeolite, a volcanic mineral that neutralizes odors. Not that the Rl has odors but i just love a clean smelling car.

 

Not sure I follow. What I usually do when the interior gets stale is leave it in the garage with the windows and sunroof open overnight. Come back the next morning and it's cool and fresh.

I say the best air freshener is no air freshener.

I do not know if it is intentional, but my 4 year old RL smells like a new car. Mind you I am a tidy owner, and I use leather cleaners & wipes regularly.

But it is a fairly common question from passengers: "Is this a new car? I smells new!".

 

I agree that no air freshener is the way to go. But if you do want something don't use any of that crap you can get at autozone and stuff as they all use synthetic chemicals as a fragrance. I would only use Vaportek.

 

i must say the little new car scent christmas trees do a damn good job, last about a week or so, and are cheap

 

I use the California scents round box. they last more then a month and smell good.

 

A strawberry should smell like a strawberry, a woman should smell like a woman, a fish should smell like a fish and a car should smell like a car. Don't mix 'em up.

Acura had a bulletin out saying air freshners can cause damage to the wood finishes and not to be covered by warranty

 

Im a huge fan of Zaino Bros "Leather in a Bottle" for making my car smell good. Oh yea......and cleaning my seats too..

 

My car still smells new, I keep it clean.

 

I have the same stuff but it does not smell very good. Does anyone know of a juice that actually smells like leather?

 

I stick a Yankee Candle "Clean Cotton" car jar in with my cabin air filter... Nice fresh scent without having to have anything hanging off my mirror!

 

New car smell smells best to me. This does it: I've found that Leatherique from a company in Florida is a great "air conditioner". It brings out the dirt from the leather with the rejuvenator oil and then the prestine clean takes out the dirt that comes to the surface. Do it when it's really hot out and let it sit for many hours before you use the Prestine Clean.

I find most air fresheners to be rank, myself.

stever500 - Does this stuff actually smell like leather? Everything that I've tried seems to work to some degree but None of them make the car smell like the leather when it was newer.

 

Take half of a Bounce (or similar) dryer sheet and put it under the passenger seat for a mild but clean scent.

 

It will make your car smell like the leather seats you're putting it on. I tried the bounce air freshener sheets for years but I never thought that worked that well compared to simply using Leatherique to bring out the wonderful leather seat smell.
