As the title says I have a 2005 Acura rl with 113000 miles on it. I've had the timing belt redone recently and everything seems to be running smoothly outside of, what seems to be a problem turning over at startup. About two days ago I noticed how when turning the ignition it took one more wind up than usual to start the engine, then today I went to start it and it flashed the dash like it has when the battery has been dead. I drove for about two hours after it did this, so plenty of time to charge, turned it off started it 10 minutes later and it did the same extra turn over before starting again. The battery is relatively new, about a year old, so I'm thinking it could be the alternator. Anyone with a similar issue or any idea on what could be wrong? Thanks

Yep, battery. One of the Acura batteries only went about a year in my 2005. Had receipt, so got replacement from dealership. Although I did the install myself both times.

 

I just had the same problem in my 05 RL you need a factory alternator from the dealer other alternators don't produce the right amps took car max 3 months and 3 alternators and 2 new battery's

 

I'm having same problems, do anyone know how much the dealer charge to put new alternator in? Any advice will help thanks!
