Anyone tried the Amuse ROM?

Been asked in the past (years ago) but thought I would ask again.

No one here has tried the Amuse chip in the years I've been on the board. It is unfortunate that it is so expensive now, though.

I don't think it is programable but the changes they did I'm sure will help a lot. I hope they get back to me soon!

I doubt this will do jack squat. Chip upgrades don't do a whole lot unless you have a turbo car and youa re cranking up boost...

but I'd love to be proved wrong!!

chips can change fuel ratio to be less fuel efficient as well as shift times, as in not shifting early to improve gas mileage.

But I think that is mostly covered when switched to S mode and paddling for self, at least in the 09+

for ex 0-60 time is 1 second faster in S mode full auto vs full auto.

sorry if this is a really dumb question, but is there a sport mode on the 05 (other than just using the paddle shifters)? i dont see a button anywhere, lol

they still have not responded ?? oh well i think i will just get an AEM ecu.

And yes i could prove you wrong ! even on a stock civic i can get big power gains by tuning. I have over 100 hours of personal tuning on my turbo crx and it is hands down an amazing car now! 12psi 12.3 1/4mile on a singal CAM! and a daily driver with full upgraded idel air control.

another thing is the newr RL doent have a low gear witch i use in the city all the time. Almost like sport it holds the rpm in the gear and drives more like standard and uses engine braking.

sorry to burst your bubble but that is what S mode does. It holds on to gears longer and stays in higher gear.

Plus 09+ can use paddles without going to S mode.

now what is this AEM ecu you're talking about?

i think they have one for our cars not 100% sure but with that you can change lots and easy to get a base map for it. Ive tuned lots of diffrent standalones but AEM would be my first choice for the RL

I had the AEM EMS ECU for my lancer evo8. It was a bad ass ecu that controls everything for the car. It works every well with turbo'd cars, not sure if the gain/cost ratio is worth it for a NA vehicle.

I remember there was one for the ZDX, but nothing for the RL. They offer an universal ecu but that would be a pain in the arse to wire up.

I did a long search as we've discussed the Amuse ECU before. Apparently, the ECU is incompatible with the USDM RL due to our immobilizer. Pertinent post:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...80&postcount=7

In any case, here's an image of the ECU:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

From this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-rl-2005-2012-76/amuse-spoon-legends-rl-magazine-scans-huge-4megs-496227/

So that seems to settle things about the Amuse ECU. The only way we'll get a programmable ECU for the current RL is for someone who's a wiz at this sort of programming to plug in a computer and decode for us.
