Another Keyless Entry Problem

I have had my 06 RL for 2 or 3 mo now and really like it. Had some problems with the pass door handle - it was intermittent and did not work when the humidity was high. They replaced it and all is good.

The other problem is the ignition lock. I am keeping count and I have had to pry the plastic thingy that you turn instead of a key off and use the key to start the car. Any idea as to what the problem is? I know that when I take it to the dealer it will work fine!

The battery in your remote might be weak, although if that were the case you should see a message in the MID.

steering wheel locking

I have had that problem from time to time and have finally figured out that it happens more often when the wheels are cocked when I turn the car off. If the steering wheel isn't close to being strait up, it happens.

Agreed. I have seen this on my RL try turning the wheel. This happens with my Mazda as well.

I have tried turning the wheel, and that's not the problem. Works fine when you use the key.

I have the exact same issue.

I thought my steering wheel was "cocked" when I couldnt turn the ignition.

I have to really muscle the ignition switch to start about 70% of the time.

I live an hour away from my Acura dealer, so I'm hoping there's a quick fix (yea, right).

I still LOVE my car though! Actually this has been the ONLY issue I've had.

Woodek to hear that I am not going crazy! Let me know if you figure out what the problem is.

Then this is what my dealer told me. For the time being, use your other key (driver #2) and see if the problem still exists. If it doesn't, then its the key.
