I've been lurking on this board for awhile, mostly because I was looking for an RL but I just got one So anyway I have a few problems with it I want to fix myself if possible. Of course the A/C doesn't blow cold at all. I want to believe it's the stator but I have a question - If you see the clutch spinning when you turn the a/c on isn't the stator working properly or could it still be bad? I'm thinking if the stator wasn't working right the clutch wouldn't spin?

Just wondering if anybody had any experience with that. My other issues are sunroof will only tilt up but not open and it doesn't close evenly. I read to do the reset procedure, I tried it a couple times last night with no luck. Other than that the chrome is flaking off the grill and trim but I think I'll end up painting it the same color as the car or something.

If anybody has any insight or can point me to a thread I'll wax your RL up one of these weekends if your in the VA area

 

Welcome, and congrats on your RL! Have you found the service manual links? There should be trouble shooting for the A/C and hopefully an adjustment for the sunroof.

 

These are great and useful and bookmarked. I did grab a service manual as I also like a print copy but thats me.

OP - where in VA are you? I dont need a wax just curious where you found the 05.

 

I'm in Richmond I found the RL at a volkswagen dealership, it was a trade in. Haven't checked out the service manual but I'm about to download it right now.
