Acura RL Stylin'
Even though there are so many things that I love about the RL, it has taken me a little bit longer to warm up to the RL's conservative styling. Now don't get me wrong, I've always liked it, but I wished it was more daring in the style department like the TL. That being said, after adding the deck lid spoiler, upgrading to the 18" OEM chromes with performance tires and tinting the windows, I think it's looking mighty nice these days.
On that note, I saw another RL (a rarity so far) on the freeway yesterday and as I watched it in my rearview mirror and as it passed me, I was thinking, WOW! What a nice, elegant and classy looking vehicle!!!
I also must mention to my surprise, the number of compliments I've been getting on my RL........3 this week! My RL epiphany!

Oh Yeh...Me too...
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I get a ton of envious looks and compliments on my Opulent Blue Pearl 05 RL. Initial print images simply didn't do the car justice. However, in person, the car exudes this really nasty elegance which can't be denied! I'm forever grateful to "Justin" for pointing out, when the Acura first came out, that the darker colors look best - He was spot on!
Funny, when I park at a lot in D.C. (with parking tight here, a frequent thing), I almost always get a "wow", or "that's some car". Lately, it's the infrequent time I don't get a compliment that I'm miffed.
Enjoy. The RL is a dazzler.

I too think it looks much better in person than in pics especially with tint and the lip spoiler is nice even though I dont have it.
I still prefer the TL's body over the RL but that doent mean I dont like the look of the RL. I have liked it since the day I first test drove the car and my appreciation for its shape has only increased in the months I have owned it.

In my opinion window tints and upgrading to the 18" OEM wheels is a requirement if I go with the RL. I can get the 18" rims for $1500; I am currently negotiating with my dealer for a better deal; trading the 18" for the 17" that come with the car.
BTW Acura must think we are stupid to buy or order the car with 18" at their MSRP price. If one were to order the 18" it adds $2000+ to the car and they would keep the 17" - but I can get the car with 17" buy my own rims at $1500 and put on my own rubber all the while keeping the perfectly good 17" rims/tires to sell or trade or whatever.

I liked the RL's styling even in the first photos that came out. I purchased a carbon gray pearl with tuape interior...the contrast looks great. When I picked out the car, I asked the dealer to tint the windows as part of the deal. I knew it would improve the look, but WOW.....when I took delivery, I couldn't believe the difference it made in the car. With the dark paint and the dark windows, the car really looks sharp. It also seems to accentuate the chrome accents.
Since I purchased it, I too have received numerous compliments. I love the front and rear views of the car!

While I have found each angle of this vehicle VERY attractive, I especially love the front of this thing...I've passed a few on the freeway driving through the gorge, and wow; when an RL comes flying along at you in the opposite direction, boy does it look menacing. The angle and shape of the headlamps provides for a mean snarl and with the xenon lights on it adds for that extra attitude...
I sure love how this car looks
