Interesting how Acura sales are climbing in all markets EXCEPT the US!

Even Honda sales are down in Japan. But Honda is very strong in the global markets, including the US.

Honda is to Japan as Acura is to US? Things that make you go 'hmmmmm'.

Last month 383 units were sold, down 11.5%. Will be interesting to see what the #s do after the refresh.

On a side note: sales were down for all car makers really. The Accord sales dip does not look too good for a brand new vehicle. The big bump in Civic sales could be the result of the economy/gas prices driving people away from mid-sized to compacts.

I wonder if the appreciating Canadian $ has anything to do with it? Maybe it's the snowy weather.

Perhaps they all remember the ice track testing at Mecaglisse last year.

Speaking of Canada, Toyota Canada announced price reductions today, which include Lexus vehicles. (new MSRP on toyota.ca and lexus.ca). I think the strength of the CDN dollar is really starting to react in permanent MSRP changes, not just incentives that lasts for a few months or so. I think Honda and Acura should follow something similar to stay competitive in Canada.

On the average, that's a bit over 7 RLs cars sold per state. Of course I can imagine that some dealers may not have even sold any RL's for January...

The refresh might not do much unless they start to market the hell out of the car.

Ditto. They (Acura) must market the hell out of it like Infiniti did successfully with the G and M classes.

The nice young valet at a 5-star resort where I just stayed in Santa Barbara asked me many questions about my RL today. He said when it first pulled in, he thought it was a Benz. He drives a lot of different cars and was very impressed with mine. He was amazed to learn that the street price for a new one is low $40s. He's thinking about a new Accord; I mentioned that the new TSX and TL would be worth a look.

WHERE IS THE MARKETING DEPARTMENT??? I can't do this all by myself!
