Lightbulb Acura/Equation Research survey

Anyone else get the internet survey from Equation Research on behalf of Acura? Long sucker - they say it'll take 30 minutes and they weren't kidding.

What I found particularly intriguing was the repeated questions about how important I considered environmental considerations to be, and the degree to which I was willing to sacrifice power for economy, and whether I'd be interested in a green diesel, etc., etc.

But it also spent a lot of time on performance considerations and on tech, and their importance.

It's always hard to tell if a survey is leading you somewhere, or trying to make a point or whatever, but this one got lots of encouragement from me for more performance and high tech. I left all the econo green stuff for the other guys.

No survey, but turbo diesel is the way to go for both fuel economy and power. I read an article yesterday that the new diesel technology (not those rattle traps GM tried in the '80s) provides the best gas mileage and power of any other fuel, which surprised a lot of the so-called auto experts. E85 was the worst since with ethanol you only get 83% of the power of gasoline. I could see myself in a turbo diesel someday, which Acura and a few other companies are looking at for the US.

Just got my email regarding the survey. They really were not kidding, that took 1/2 hour!

"With a brand I trust, I am willing to try an innovative product." Let's hope Acura has lots of those on tap....

survey was too long

I did the survey yesterday, and it was so long. I couldn't believe that it went on and on and on. I wish they would have had a feedback field or place to add comments, but there wasn't any place to give comments.

I thought it might take 10 minutes, but it took 20-30 minutes. I think they should compensate me for my time, since the data I am providing is worth money. Most market research pays you for your time.

Then I just got one for my 2007 MDX, and it was ONE question. One. Something about if I had any questions about any of the functions or features on my MDX.

When I clicked "No", it just said "Thank you for completing the survey", and that was it.

Yup. I got the same survey as Mike, but it asked me if I had any questions about any of the functions or features on my 07 RL.

My "No" response produced the same results.

I did the survey as well. Hopefully Honda and Acura are fucking around this time and actually use the survey results to properly improve their product offerings.

I assume you mean "are not" fscking around.

In any case, I agree. I believe they do listen--they made a lot of changes between 2G and 3G TL, many of them dreamed up by us on the boards. I'm certain A-Spec came about because so many 2G TL folks, myself included, were lowering their suspensions for that sporty feel.

Good to know that - I'm always wary of unsolicited mail that wants you to click an embedded link.
