Acura Deck lid question

I just had the Acura Deck lid installed on my 2005 RL and noticed that while it is firmly attached at the ends and flush with the trunk, it is not flush with the trunk in the middle. There is a small gap that you can push on the lid with your hand and make it flush but it just comes back up. My question is, is it supposed to be like that in the middle? Or did the dealership miss tightening a bolt there or should they of had a high strength glue there holding it down? The gap is not big by anymeans but I haven't seen another one in person so I dont have anything to compare it to.

Thanks in advance for the help

I believe it only screws down a both ends so if there is an issue, it would have to be with the tape not adhering well. Never noticed that, but I will definitely check mine out to see if it is an issue.

You'll have to have it redone.
I had my deck lid replaced 3 times because of tape issues, the adhesive isn't strong enough for some reason. Thats why i'm getting the Mugen spoiler.
Your should be under warranty, take it to the dealer

I just had the trunk lid spoiler replaced on my 05 RL. It was coming up on the left side so they replaced it with a new one. I agree with the other posters - the adhesive isn't strong enough to last. Take it back and have them replace it or fix it.

Would replacing the adhesive provided with double-sided 3M tape help this situation any? This has been touted on the 3GTL side as successful for aftermarket lip spoilers.

Thanks for all the coments, now I gotta decide if I want my money back and get the Mugen spoiler or just get it redone. How much do the Mugen spoilers go for btw, I've never looked into getting one of them but do like the way they look.

email member Touge (you can't PM until you have 20 posts), he can get you that part from Japan. IIRC, it's $600, and he is a site vendor.

No gap at all on mine.
I did it myself and used Heavy duty 3M tape without drilling.

I used the 3M heavy duty as well. No gaps, no signs of loosening and we get enough H2O around here.

Same here. After reading a thread on here, I bought the spoiler and installed with 3M double sided tape. Haven't had any problems....
