Can anyone tell me if they have trouble with their accelerator pedal popping and moving around? With the car turned off push it to the floor hard. Does it pop and crack when released? So the same again a couple of times only just after you let it up slowly all the way touch your heel on the bottom of the pedal. Does it make a loud snap that you can feel in your foot?

 

I'd show that to the dealer...I wouldn't try it with my car just cause it sounds so mean.

I did and they said it is normal they all do it. Now I am trying to determine if that is correct.

 

Ask them to test drive one of theirs to compare.

 

Mine does not do that.

It does make a roaring noise and my gas mileage drops through the floor, however. Then I hear a sound like a cash register and the dude at the gas station cackling like a hen.

went by the dealer today as the extended warranty is almost up. We tested an 05 - it did not do it. We tested another 06 and it does do it. I looked up the parts fiche and the base of the pedal looks like it snaps into a support that is fastened to the firewall. It appears to be the place where it snaps moving around. Since the other 06 did it and the 05 did not, dealer says Acura will say it is by design. Good news is dealer says they have yet to have a pedal come apart on an 06 thru 09 so it is likely to be just an annoying pop once in awhile from the pedal unless Acura finds a problem and makes a recall.
