300,000 miles

I know there are mechanics out there posting pictures of high mileage cars they work on, but dammit anyway, I actually drove my car, risking life and limb, for this forum!

Yes, I ruffled many feathers along the way (Acura RL in Snow video), but it was all for the forum. I had to hit that next milestone of 300,000 f'ing miles and if feathers were ruffled, I apologize, sort of.

Well, I promised 300K, so here it is:

Outstanding.

I am at 197,000 now but have really slowed down on the miles, started flying more.

Did you change your timing belt etc every 100k?

Awesome! Congrats. Along with everyone else I'd be curious to hear about your maintenance history and and/or any problem areas along the way.

Here's the odo on my 1994 Legend as of today. 5th timing belt.

I dunno about you, but I'd find it hard to part with a car that I've been with for 300K miles. Keep her and aim for 500!

Plus, I hear having no car payment is awesome.

300k miles? wow!

what if anythign that was a major or $$ component went bad? it would be nice to think that this car is realitically able to go that long with no problems...

was most of the driving freeway I"m assuming? which is less abusive... but still... that's a lot of miles.

how has the car held up in terms of buttons, switches, leather, other trim items etc?

On MyAcura.com there is a link for owners to submit stories of there Acura to celebrate the 25 years of Acura. I think this is a good candidate.

http://celebrate.acura.com/?from=MY%...00810&source=5

With any expectations FN P90s RL will be featured in Acura STYLE Magazine. Just as long as they leave FN P90 himself out of the pictures! *ducking from blazin' bullets*

I replaced the transmission around 265,000 miles, I think. When they were doing the tranny, they found a broken motor mount too. The bill was around $4000 for the tranny. I had a quote, from another Acura dealer, of $6000. I guess it pays to shop around.

As far as driving goes, it's mixed driving. I drive the car pretty hard.

Both sensors in the door handles have failed and no longer work; I gave up replacing them. Buttons, leather, trim, etc. are fine. Heck, maybe today I'll wash the beast and post some detailed pictures.

I'm thinking about it. However, how the HELL am I going to sell this car? 300,336 miles, over 20 cigars smoked in car per week X 52 weeks x 5 years = 5200 cigars. No one would ever buy this thing. I have to hold on to it, right?

Maybe I'll retire it into a brick wall when I hit 400K.

THERE is the sole source for Global Warming.

That poor RL. That is worse than Hawks and his Mexican food issues.

Well you could get a 2009+ RL to replace her. They do say that many people drive vehicles they resemble.
