will this US disc work on my RL since i live north of the broader? and on the cdn website it goes for 200+..... any help would be great since i dont want to pay the full price for this update, thanks.

Where do you live? The U.S. Disc will work just fine in your RL, but you have to remember that it only covers the Canadian boarder region within 100 miles of the U.S. boarder. I can tell you that the U.S. Disc works great in southern Ontario. I drive up to Detriot and then head into Ontario (Windsor, London, Hamilton, and Toronto) every year and I have no problems with the map database. However, if you live further north like Edmonton or Nova Scotia, then you'll need to purchase the Canadian disc.

Not sure if all of Montreal is covered. Go to acuranavi.com, select your RL model year and then select map coverage. This will display all of what is covered on the U.S. disc. Any cities or towns highlighted in blue are not covered in the U.S. disc and you must purchase the Canadian disc.

Received the CD today. Uploading was EASY. My 06 RL CD couldn't find my house. (Community was built in 2004) but sure enough 2011 update found it without any problem. Yay!!!!

Question... parents have 2002 Acura TL. Can I use my 06 CD in theirs? Would it work? Is there a market for my old CD?

Got the new CD, had 4.31C White DVD which I took out (car running), inserted the new CD, the display showed read error for a second (complaining I don't recognize it, as expected), the update started, took about 2 minutes, done. My home address is actually listed now versus my neighbors and exactly where it should be versus before. For around a $100, worth it and probably good till I sell the car (unless they tempt me otherwise).

Thanks, you were right. I did a copy and paste on the link on page 1 and that didn't work, but clicking on the link does. I checked my current disk on my 2007 RL and it's version 4.56 so I think I'm good to go with this but is there anything I'm losing by only get the map/data disk and not the software update disc too for the $185?

Hey guys I have an 05 rl running the original disc that came with the car am I eligible to get the $99 disc and be good? Thanks I'm running the 4.13B should I expect a major difference in maps?

This has all been covered in this thread. Maps and software will change, but you aslo need to see post # 85 since you have 4.13, as you will need a second disk for just updates, and indications are that is not part of the $99 deal

Does anyone have the software upgrade disc in the Atlanta Area? This is for a 2005 RL, I have a backup of the original v4.92 nav disc, just need the software upgrade disc. Thanks!

A backup of the original v4.92 disc will NOT work even with the software upgrade disc. You need the original v4.92 disc after the software upgrade because there is some type of copy protection on it that no one seems to be able to crack.

In addition, if you upgrade the software and then realize that your "backup" doesn't work, you can't go back to your original disc without force downloading a software downgrade to your NAV unit, which is not a trivial task.

What version disc are you currently using?

-If its 4.13 then PM me your address and I will send my update disc.

-If its 4.31 or higher then you do not need the update disc. All you have to do is insert the new map disc and you'll be good to go.

I wonder if the glitch was they did not expect everyone to be ordering the $99.00 deal that was only offered to some. Once the URL got out, I think everyone jumped on it!

i called them for the 08 RL and spoke with June, they honored the $99 price - my total was $118.62 fedex to nyc. so you should call them up, tell them you heard on the internet, ha.

I just ordered mine for $108 w 2 day shipping. They honored it for me. Told them I saw it on Friday for $99. I tried to get the promo code from her but Veronica wouldn't give IR up lol. So just call and tell them you have an 06-08 RL if you just need the update. Apparently there was a glitch on the website. Hope this helps

Look at the Acura Navi site. Each release is documented, minimally, but documented. Most significant updates were with 4.6x

You can also browse the various threads where this has been discussed.

What you might want to do is chronicle the releases, post it and have csmeance put it in the garage so it will be easier to find for all! Let us know what you find.

There's not much listed, just some POI/ map updated areas. I checked my DVD and it's 4.92, so I have the latest software, whatever it does.

If you have 4.92 you have the latest software updates. I believe that they only listed updates that the user could see (play with through controls such as DST patch, one way streets, etc) for earlier versions up through 4.6x. All other updates seem to be "behind the scenes" stuff.

I called them and after a million questions they honored the price. Just tell them you received the letter in the mail but don't have it. After they spend 15 minutes trying to look you up in the system they'll eventually honor the price. I received mine yesterday

ok mi got my set up and update disc today for $99 from a phone order. i order the 06 update disc and when it came in, i called them back and said my order is messed up and that i ordered the 05 update discs. i got a RMA to return the first order and we started a new order. i asked if i can still get the $99 deal again and they said ok. the CS rep had to put in some promo code but i got it.
perhaps people who need it can just call and ask for the 05 two disc set up and say it was on the site for $99? worth a shot.

Thanks to RMJSE for being kind enough to attepmt to send me his update disc though i didnt need it anymore.

yes just got off the phone with them as well and they will honor the 99 deal but will not honor it for us canadians. which sucks because i wanted the full coverage disc for canada.
