I am the 2nd owner of a 2006 RL. I just got an oil change and tire rotation from Sears (yeah, I know but it's only $20 - beat that!) and the service vehicle info is still displaying in the display.

Also, the keyless entry battery is low message is still displaying as well. That message turned on the same day (for both keyless entries) and I have changed the 3V LiIon batteries for both units (4 batteries total).

Is there a way to reset and/or turn off these messages myself or must I take it to the dealer? Last oil change, Sears turned off the service messages themselves.

The reset procedure is on page 352 in the 2006 RL manual.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.
2. If the oil life minder is not displayed, press the SEL/RESET button on the steering wheel repeatedly until it is.
3. Press and hold the SEL/RESET button on the steering wheel for

more than 10 seconds. The remaining engine oil life reset
mode will be shown on the multiinformation display.

• To reset the engine oil life, press
  the or button on the steering
  wheel to select RESET on the
  display, and press the SEL/
  RESET button.
• To cancel resetting the oil life,
  press the or button on the
  steering wheel to select CANCEL
  on the display, and press the SEL/

  RESET button.
  

4. If you do not complete the reset procedure within 30 seconds after

selecting the reset mode, the mode will be canceled automatically.

 

The hold for 10 secs doesn't work. Is this because the "keyless entry battery is low" message is there as well? I will call the dealer and/or take the car to the dealer. thx.

 

i donlt know about your battery working or not because i just changed mine 05RL and it worked instantly. No need for reset or anything
