2005 RL brake job

Hi, the last time I was in for service I was told I'd most likely need to replace my brakes. I'm just curious what the community has to say on what this will cost. I do not have the ability to do this myself...Thanks!

Why not call the dealer and ask?

It's going to be different from dealership to dealership. If you want a true number, call them.

service prices vary substantially by region (big city, bigger price). It also depends if you change out rotors etc.

Also worth noting, if you want to have a dealer do the work, consider looking at a Honda dealer. They are usually cheaper and happy to do the work.

+1 on Honda dealer doing it. My uncle does all his MDX service at the Honda dealer.

You'll pay a fortune at the dealer, mine wants $500 just to replace the pads...how ridiculous. Not sure what you need done, but any mechanic should be able to replace pads and you don't need to use pads the dealer sell, though I would say to use something similar aftermarket...i'm sure somebody on here can recommend a set, maybe akebono??. You can find them on line, probably for around $100 and it doesn't take more than hour of labor. If you need rotors, that will cost you more, but you can easily check to see if you really need them by feeling them. If you can feel a ridge around the outside perimeter of the face, your a candidate...if it's smooth you don't need them.

Just had an independent shop put Akebono ceramic pads on my front. So far, so good. And the bill was exactly half of what the Acura dealer had quoted.
