06 RL A/C out. Replacing field coil on compressor question

When replacing the field coil(stator) on a RL compressor, can it be done with refrigerant pressure stll in the system? I have been led to believe that on some compressors if you remove pressure plate, pulley an field coil the pressure on the system may blow out the seal. Meaning the seal is partialy held in by these items. The service manual doesn't specify. Reading other threads it seems that the field coil may be able to be changedout with compressor still installed and under pressure. Any insight would be helpful.

Got the answer I was hoping for. Apparently the field coil can be replaced with compressor still installed with alot of equipment removal for difficult access but no evac. Thanks 470hpGS400 for the PM response

Success! After a smashed thumb, spill beer, and 5 hours I was able to change out the stator on my compressor. Works good now. Saved myself $400. New stator $115. Dealership wanted $540. They choose to evac the system and recharge. This enable them to remove the compressor and change out the stator on a bench. Hardest part about the way i did it was getting the pulley to slide off. Alot of tugging and working back and forth. Once it freed up is where the smashed thumb happened (No blood). I am sure there is a tool out there that might make this easier. Tried different pullers I have onhand not enough room!
