05 RL A/C issue......
Ok, so my ac stopped working about a year ago. I had plenty of freon in the system so I thought it was the compressor. So I went ahead and ordered a rebuilt one. I never got around to putting it in since the cold weather was approaching. So about 2 weeks ago, I told myself that I gotta put in the compressor. But before I did that, I wanted to know exactly what was going on so I brought it to the dealer to get checked out. I paid the $120 and they found 2 things wrong. Field coil and clutch is no good. They wanted like $1300 to fix it.
.. So know that I know what's wrong and that those 2 things are in the compressor, today I went ahead and changed out the compressor. After install, I tried the ac and still no clutch movement. So I figured it was because there was no freon in the system. So I went to Walmart and bought a big bottle of freon and tried putting it in. So it seems that it doesn't wanna take in the freon because the clutch is not on. So, I then tried to bypass the ac relay so I can get the clutch to turn on and then be able to fill the freon, but I still can't get it to turn on. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I did some research before hand. Can anyone shed some light here or maybe have a relay diagram just to make sure I was jumping the relay rite?

There's an A/C troubleshoot and wiring diagram in the service manual.

Hey 007Spy, would you lend a hand?
Above you mention doing a search, OK...did one using the "search" tab in the line with "Settings", "FAQ", "Community", etc. The results contained links to info not only related to Acuras but other makes and model vehicles, such as Mercedes, BMW, etc. What gives?
I'm have an AC issue related to the radiator fan control but don't want to hi-jack this thread. I'll start my own.

hey bluetl04 I had the same issue last summer and actually diagnose the problem myself witch also lead me to a bad field coil installed it filled the system to proper Freon with proper machine and still didn't work. my dumbass got a whole new compressor and installed it still didn't work. well after so many headaches I finally found that my climate control wasn't returning ground to the coil after turning on the a/c there was present ground but not after car was running. legit fix would of been to swap out the climate control but since it was just ground that I was missing I found the wire in the harness near the compressor under the fan and cut it, put an electric connector eye lid I think its called and just grounded it to the metal fan shroud work instantly after that. not sure if your having the same problem but that's what I did on my 2005 acura rl
