I'd pop the cover off and check the plug, it may be loose.

I agree with Heavy. Sounds like a loose connection.

Are we talking about the brake light in the rear window? How complicated is it to pop off? I would like to get in there to stop a rattle my subs are causing.

Sorry, had a hot date last night... yeah when we tinted my car I didnt want to cut around it so we pulled it down.

From what I remember it pops down like any trim piece, I think there were 4 clips total.

I had a body panel remover (long flat pliers) and popped it right off.

And FYI, if the plug is in solid you need the brake switch on the pedal. Just be prepared.

Haha... No need for apologies. Hot dates are infinitely more important than the I am (at least to you)!

On your last post was that for the OP or me? I don't understand this brake switch on the pedal.

Was the brake switch expensive? I just noticed mine weren't completely out they are just extremely dum for some reason. Any ideas guys?

You may have a resistive short in the switch that is allowing some current through in the "normally off" position. Theoretically though, that would cause it to be on even when the car is off. Is that true?

Do you have to remove the dash cover under the steering wheel to get to the brake light switch, and if so, where are the clasps/screws located?

I don't think so. It should be on the pedal bracket.

I had the same problem. The switch is on the pedal and easy to see. I think that the switch is a double pole switch and I used the other pole. I remember removing it and taking it apart but I don't remember the details but I would start at this switch and check it with a $2.99 meter.
