New member and ride...

Hi Everyone,

Have been reading the forum for a few months now to gain any knowledge I could before I made my purchase of a 08 PM RL. I already have a 04 TL but have always loved the basic styling of the RL. As said on these forums several times they are just really sexy cars if done right and you don't see anyone else driving them around town when you go out.

Car was stock when I bought it a couple months back. Have since added H & R springs as well as bought a set of 19" Legacy7 wheels from RonJon. Let make take a second to thank Rondy for all the help. I was a little nervous with this style wheel in the liquid Graphite but they are going to look sick after staging them by the car. I don't plan on putting them on until spring when I will add the deck lid and chrome grill I have.

It's so sad there are so few of these cars around. I don't think for the money you can find a nicer ride. Still learning all the ins and outs but I absolutely love this car so far.

I will post a picture of the staged wheels soon for everyone to take a look at and let me know what you think. Can't wait for spring to put all this stuff on.

I see more TL and TSX's whether it be the previous gen or current model. I never really noticed it until I was searching for one and eventually got my RL. Just in my area alone, I've only seen maybe four on the road.

There may be some that think its not a sad thing at all to drive a car that is not as common as the other models Acura produces. Heck I've yet to see an RL slightly modified with a set of aftermarket wheels and lowered. Congrats on the pick up.

Thanks guys!

MSW that was a close copy that I looked at that I couldn't sell myself on but to be honest the H & R drop makes all the difference in the world. It makes it look like a different car. As far as the Legacy wheels go the Liquid Graphite make the wheels look totally different than the Liquid Silver. It's weird I know but the darker color on the wheels really look nice with the tinted windows. And at certain angles the wheels almost look chrome. Hope to post a picture this weekend.

By the way if anyone is debating lowering your RL, do it! I love the look and the ride. Firmer but still plenty soft.

The Liquid Graphite finish is gonna look really nice on your dropped RL, can't wait to see the final results!

Thanks Rondy! Yup that's my ride. I sent Rondy a sneak peek because I wanted to let him see how they looked staged and thank him for all his help. I never thought picking a wheel could be such a headache but I'm so happy that I picked these because they were not the ones I thought I had settled on. Now on to deciding on tires .

Just a shout out to Rondy too. If anyone is in the market for new wheels whether it's a Acura or not don't hesitate to give Rondy a call. He will hook you up!

Once I get tires I will pull out the nice camera instead of my cell phone and get some pictures posted and sent to you Rondy to put in your gallary.

On a side note and I realize this isn't the forum but wanted to give Acura a shout out for just yesterday paying 80% on good will to replace my transmission that just went out on my 04 TL with 117K on her. Couldn't believe it! Comes with a 3yr/36K warranty. Acura forever!

Happy Friday Everyone

Those look like a nicer version of my wheels (see my avatar shot). As you'd expect, I think that's really gonna look sweet. Congratulations, and welcome to the RL club!

I would say do as much research on this board as possible. 05 seem to of had the most issues but that's normal I would guess for new designs. That said it is still a solid car. I have limited time with my 08 but couldn't be happier. Crazy thing was when I test drove it the first time I just didn't feel it but couldn't put my finger on why so I went back and drove it again and liked so much more. Seems the more I drive it the more I like it.

I was looking for the biggest bang for the buck and had a hard time finding anything to compare it to that caught my attention. And then you throw in the SH-AWD and it's tough to beat for a quality used car. And after coming here and seeing the mods some of these guys have done I was hooked.

This probably didn't help much but I'm really enjoying the car and like it so much more with the drop. Can't wait to put the wheels on. I just think this body style RL while some might call it plain really has a classic sexy design. I get double takes all the time in this thing because RL's just aren't running around everywhere.
