05-08 RL Trunk leak

So for over a year I been going crazy trying to find out why my trunk kept getting wet, after all the trouble shooting fail I finally stripped the trunk, climbed in it while a buddy drove threw car wash. I found 4 leaks, 1 tail light harness plug, 2 tail light guides had foam gaskets that was crumbled, 3 body seam. Thought I'd post to help point others in a closer direction

Nice job!

Did you manage to fix this?
How did you do it?
I have the same problem, finding some water under the spare tyre.
Is this a commin issue or due some kind of accident of the rear?

The trunk on my 06 is leaking too, but it seems to be coming from between the trunk seal and deck lid. The trim piece on the underside of the deck lid gets all wet and drips down on the spare tire cover. I can't find a tear in the rubber trunk seal but it dose seem some what flattened out up by the rear window, possibly due to age? Anyone else have this issue?

Try cleaning/drowning the seal in a silicone & rubber lubricant and leave the trunk/boot lid open.

It ought to regain suppleness and start to seal properly again.

This should be regularly done for door seals too. And roof seals if you own an S2000...

Seems a bit odd that it would not drip before capilliaring along into the fuzzy felt on the underside of the lid - I wonder if you have a leak under the rear spoiler (if fitted) or something?
