Front strut assembly

I'm looking to replace the front struts on my girlfriends 2015. I'm looking to find a good full strut assembly so I don't have to deal with compressing the spring. What brand have people used? I've heard KYB and Monroe mentioned for good brands, but they don't seem to have the full assembly for this model. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Monroe sucks. Only KYB.

If there's no strut-plus available for your model you're prob stuck making your own assembled coilover. You could always pay a shop to do that. Get a set of KYB Excel-G struts and source some new springs (kinda crazy RockAuto doesn't carry springs)

I'll be doing a Front and Rear suspension overhaul on my 2G RDX over the summer, likely around June or July, I'll be sure to do a write up with photos when I do.

I'll be doing KYB Front and Rear shocks and endlinks from Rock Auto, with OEM Acura bushings, top hats, springs, etc. (maybe even OEM lower ball joints if needed)

When I priced it all out, Front and Rears could be done for under $800 all in, which wouldn't be that bad considering.
I intend to assemble the entire front coil assembly beforehand at my work, and do an install over a weekend when there are more hours of daylight.

I did this as well, doing the struts late in the fall of 2024 (the compression was a bitch), and although I had them, I didn't do the shocks until one was leaking last month (I am almost always alone in my car, and simply didn't feel the gradual loss.) I did not do the ball joints, the LCAs, or any other part of the suspension. I had purchased the parts (KYB) several years ago, but hadn't faced up to the work. I am glad I got the job done.

Yeah both of my front OE shocks are completely dead and blown.

For the last few years, I used to be able to hear one side make an audible "woosh-woosh" shock damper kinda noise, but over the last 6 months, that's faded away into silence.
Both of the dust boots on either side have completely disintegrated into shreds, gunky oil residue is visible all over the shaft body, and what appears to be a metal washer is now bouncing around the top of the shock bodies & shaft, making a wonderful 'doink-doink' noise over every little bump.

When I hit a large bump on the freeway, I can clearly count the one-two-three-four natural oscillations it takes for the front end to settle down. So yeah, they done done lol.
