Strut replacement

I have new struts for my CL-S daily driver, and would like to gather information on removal of the front struts. I have spring compressors to transfer the springs and full array of needed tools.

Fronts - I fully loosened the clamp at bottom of strut and was only able to get the strut to move 1/16". Even after pulling pivot bolt from the strut fork, and striking it with rubber mallet, not able to get this to move any further away from strut. Thought that corrosion at bottom of strut may be an issue, but the movement is too consistent on each of struts. Also thought that there may be a detent feature that is engaging the bottom of strut, just need to spring the clamp open a bit further?..... Was hoping that someone would share the process of removing the front stuts!

Also, is there an on-line site for Acura service procedures?

Thanks much...

Just saw NiteQwill's excellent writeup on strut removal. This should handle any of my questions - very thorough procedure!
