Recently purchased a 17 CPO RDX AWD Tech. Vehicle is in great shape except for the door sills. Both the driver side door and rear door sills are really scratched up. With that said, I have 2 questions to anyone that has come across this issue:

1. Has anyone had any success using a metal polish/cleaner to remove or make the scratches less noticeable?
2. What is my best bet for replacement parts? I accessed a few Acura Parts sites and each site has illuminated door sills for $230+. I just want to replace the sill without purchasing the type that lights up.

Thank you for the response. At least I am one step closer to finding a replacement. I will contact this dealer to see if this part also includes the metal Acura sill plate. Description is black trim.

 

Make sure those sills don't still have the protective plastic on them. Many dealers don't remove it during prep.

 

No protective film. I actually tried using rubbing compound and metal polish on the sills to see if it would make them look better. It did not. Will order from Acura as $20 a pop seems reasonable.
