Please help identify this part?

So on my way out today, I found the front passenger side window smashed. I didn't see much damage other than that, but there was this plastic piece. I have no idea where it came from. If anyone could identify this trim piece, please let me know.

Back side:

Front side looks like the grayish plastic that surrounds the center console.

Cell phone was stolen. Besides that, there was basically nothing in the car since it was only 1.5 months old.

I don't know why they pulled that piece from the steering column. I'm still having trouble finding out where it came from. There's glass everywhere so I didn't want to be crawling around. Here's a pic under the steering column. It looks like there might be a couple of holes where that plastic piece might go.

^^^ I am knot sure where that piece is from but it doesn't appear as a critical component so a quick trip to the dealer and they will help you identify where that part goes.

I am very sorry to see you were a victim of a random and senseless crime. Almost as dumb as the Knock Out game that seems to be spreading.....What is going on with society these days?

When I installed the trunk privacy cover accessory there were two similar caps in the trunk the I had to remove where the cover gets installed. Maybe thats where it's from. Check the trunk right behind the seats. They are up high right below the windows.

I believe that it's a cover from the steering column. Looks like they were after more than your cell phone.

Sorry to hear about the break-in. I know how it is to have your new RDX damaged.

Sure, I bet they were after the airbag, and wanted to disconnect the wiring.

See if there is a part number, usually 4 groups of numbers/letters seperated by dashes, molded into the back. If so, search on that number in one of the OEM on-line Acura parts dealers like acuraoemparts dot com. That will show you the nomenclature and provide a drawing of where it goes.

That is the back of the part and those are the only numbers on that plastic piece. I can't find any numbers like what you're referencing. I was hoping to find a schematic like what you're referring to.

I agree with you! I am somewhat glad that they did not crowbar the glove box or that would have made things a lot worse. It's not just the loss of the possessions that make things terrible, but all the work involved with calling insurance, police, glass repair, etc. I hope they catch the thief.

Thank you! Part #10 looks like the piece in my OP. Freaking unbelievable. Should I take the car to the dealer to get some diagnostics?

Check inside your door handle well. I found a piece like that and it was a cover that snapped into the door handle recess.
