How to replace the 2G RDX seat adjuster switch (passenger side)
Sharing this in case it can help someone in the future. I don't have pictures, but will describe it and you can save some time. ChatGPT was giving me bad info on removing the trim.
I had accidentally stepped on one of the switch buttons and broken it, no just the button, the actual control broke.
For the passenger side, the part needed is 81253-SDB-A71, I got it from Ebay.
To install you need to remove the seat's side trim.
I started by unlatching the plastic latches on the side trim from the actual seat (3, I believe) using a plastic pry tool. Then I removed a screw under the seat but then realized that was one of the screws holding the switch module to the trim. The trim would not come off and I was 99% sure I needed to remove the front trim first, specially after I could peek the end of a screw (pointed inwards) more or less where the side trim meets the front trim.
The front trim has it's on screw on the console side. ChatGPT kept saying there were no more screws needed to remove, there is no need to remove front trim, you just need to pull the side trim up and backwards. Did not work so I decided to remove the front trim anyway, and voila. Now I could access the "hidden screw" holding the side trim. Took it out and now I could move the side trim open and remove the switch module. Unplug the module and plug the new one.
Just do everything in reverse after.
You are supposed to disconnect the battery before starting, but I didn't.
Good luck, hope this helps.
