I have a 2016 RDX. We got a new battery less than 2 months ago and started having a problem where the Check Charging System light comes on, then about 5-10 minutes later, the power steering starts to fail, and all sorts of warning lights come on. We got the alternator replaced, entire battery line replaced, and the HFL disconnected. After having all of this done, the same things happened a few days later and this time, the car wouldn't drive (it would just rev), and it wouldn't come back on without waiting a while. And even when we waited a while, it would come back on with the same problems. We have poured so much money into this car. Please let me know if you have any experience with this, especially if it was fixed
It was installed by the dealership so it should be the correct one.
So, if I understand correctly, the dealer doesn't perform diagnostics, but simply replaces everything indiscriminately?
You need a proper diagnosis. Maybe they simply forget to tighten something. For example, the ground connection on the body, the positive terminal on the alternator, the alternator to the engine, or the battery connections.
Perhaps the main ground connection between the automatic transmission and the frame rail has simply come loose.
This system is very simple, and an auto electrician with basic ASE A6 and A8 certification should easily be able to figure out the problem.

To my knowledge, they did run diagnostics, but the problem is that the Check Charging System light doesn't come on immediately after turning the car on. We got it towed to the dealership today and got an appointment tomorrow. When we jumped the car to park it at the dealership, the reverse wasn't working at all. It was as if the car was in neutral when put in reverse. Any advice for what I should have them check?

They need to check the entire charging system; when the alternator off in a car, it can easily behave like this. The only thing I'm 100% sure of is that they did something wrong. With such malfunctions, usually only one component fails, but these guys replaced everything, so their incompetence is 100% to blame.

Thank you. I will make sure that they know it is their fault. I will update tomorrow.
This is the most primitive charging system there can be. On my 2009 TL, the alternator is controlled by a LIN bus and has four pins, but here there's just one constant positive control pin. How could they not immediately identify the culprit in this case?
