Just to let you know, my husband has dementia and I’ve had to learn a lot so I can take care of our vehicles cuz I can’t afford a shop. I got gas, came home and parked. Went to go visit and check engine light came on. Got misfire on cylinder 1. I changed coil pack, spark plugs and cleaned all plugs and checked wires. Couldn’t find anything. My scanner says Fuel Injection Control Module now on my expensive one. Car very well maintained. Low mileage 80k. No issues. Please let me know if there’s anything I could try. The module is expensive. I even thought water in gas and treated for that. Please someone help.
Sorry to hear about your husband. You are doing him very well by taking action on this issue! I'd check the spark plug boot itself (what slides over the spark plug on top of it). Sometimes the metal springs inside of them can be finnicky.
!!!
Believe it or not, the code turned out to be my mass air flow sensor. I took it out and cleaned it with special sensor cleaner and now check engine light is out and car is running perfectly again. I took to a local repair shop and based on that code, he said I definitely needed a new engine… I am so proud I was paying attention when I was extremely young to all my Dad’s teachings cuz it has saved me so much money and heartache. Thanks for all your kind words. If I have anything else come up, I’ll know where to turn.
