If you're under warranty, take it to your dealer. If not you should provide more information. Doesn't work only with the interior button, only with the tailgate button, not at all? Have you tried changing the fuse? A tiny crack in the element that wouldn't cause a problem when warm might separate when the metal gets cold and break continuity.

Cheers!

Hi there. The power tailgate operated correctly as long as the vehicle was warm, (if it sat in the sun, or was parked in a warm garage overnight). As soon as it sat outside in cooler weather, around 0 - +5 celsius it would open via the button in the dash or the tailgate, but would not close via power. I had to manually close it. It stayed like that, (manual operation only) until the veh got warm again. The Acura dealer in Edmonton couldn't replicate the problem, and they had it parked in their lot over night. The dealer in Kelowna, BC repaired the "Tailgate closer unit half latch switch". I was also getting error messages from AcuraLink: Low Oil pressure, Electric power steering, and charging system wasn't operating correctly. Turns out those issues were nothing. As the weather is getting cooler here, I guess time will tell if the issue was fixed!

I have had two instances where my 2017 Advance's power tailgate stopped working for a while (regardless of which button I used to control it), but after some driving it fixed itself within half a day. I have not yet taken it into the dealer to have it looked at. Mine occurred in 50F weather and in 70F weather. I am curious as to how Bluebell's situation got resolved.

The dealer could not find an obvious fault even though I brought the RDX in with the tailgate malfunctioning. This was the 2nd time at this dealer, and they resolved the issue by replacing the entire locking mechanism in the tailgate. No charge, and it hasn’t failed since then. Coming up on a year. Hope this helps
