2017 RDX climate control issue

I own a 2017 Acura RDX and recently I noticed that the passenger side vents blow hot air while the driver side vents blow whatever temperature that is selected on the temperature dials. Whenever I change the passenger side temperature dial, there is no change to the air vent temperature. I reset the battery and checked the A/C fuse under the steering wheel. Both had no effect and look good.

The blend door actuator on the driver side under the steering wheel works but I am not sure if there is a separate one for the passenger side? If so, where is it located?

2017 rdx climate control issue

The passenger side is separate from the driver side. See diagnostic instructions attached. Good luck!

I took the car to the shop and they ran diagnostic tests. They said it's a bad passenger air mix motor. Waited a few days for the part to come, they go to replace the motor and notice that the plastic gear coming from the Heater Unit has broken knobs and does not spin freely. It is seized. What is the cause of this. Now they say that the entire heater unit sub-assembly needs to be replaced. Any thoughts??

In my ACURA RDX, the driver AC does not blow cold air, passenger side does. The pdf does not open diagnostic details. Can you share the pdf where link opens up. I

The classic (although not the only) cause of one side blowing cool air and the other not is low freon; I am not sure why the freon being low has this effect, but it often does. Although you can recharge it yourself, it requires some precision. I paid to get it done on my RDX, and on my Accord prior to that, and in both cases it resolved the problem nicely. It is the cheapest of the fixes, and although you didn't say what year your car is, it may well be the solution.

Do you think it's wrong that I start drinking as soon as the kids are in school, or does that just make me a super bad teacher?
