I bought a brand new 2017 RDX AWD Tech last night. Was there past the dealership close to finish the deal. That night, I was driving and went to adjust the climate control, and much t my surprise, none of the buttons were illuminated. It's Sunday here in Illinois, so car dealers are closed (old Blue Law). Is this the way it is designed? I'm hoping something, hopefully like a fuse, is out. If there is no light, it's impossible to adjust in the dark.

Help me sleep tonight.

 

Use the dimming/brightness knob on the dash and turn up the lights, it may be dimmed to far down.

 

Make sure your interior blue lights are on, the lights that are on top around where the moonroof and Acuralink buttons are.

 

Thanks. It was the rotary dim adjustment on the instrument panel. I swear I tried that, but at least I'm good to go.

Normally, in all the vehicles I've had in the past, a knob such as this is for zeroing out the trip mileage counter. I had my '16 RDX about 6 months or more before I discovered the knob controls panel lights. The crappy manual that came with the car is very vague. I called Acura customer service to ask for normal manuals and they sent me 3 booklets that cover EVERYTHING. My dealer told me I had to ask as they're not allowed to request these more detailed manuals. Some Acura "bean counter" probably got a raise by making the complete manuals by request only. Maybe ok for a less costly ride, but kind of cheap for a near luxury SUV.

 

My salesperson actually went online in front of me and ordered the full set of manuals for me while I was taking delivery.....

 

The CD provides the full manual.

 

Yes, it does; however, sometimes it is nice to have the actual paper version of the entire set....for me, easier to flip back and forth and fold over pages to give you quick and easy access without having to boot up your lappie or desktop....
