2016 RDX Nav System

2016 RDX Nav System
I live in the Dallas area, and the navigation system is a nightmare. It avoids toll roads (which abound here) and highways. And yes, I have checked the settings. It always seeks back or surface roads. It will take you off a toll road onto side streets to get to a destination on the other side of Dallas or off highways to take you to another town. Totally useless. Using my phone and trading in the Acura as soon as it wouldn't be a financial mistake.

I'm not a fan of the nav system as well.. Today, it took me at least 5 minutes to input 2 addresses and their phone numbers.... twist dial, go back, press enter, twist dial, press enter, twist dial,, shit, went past it, twist dial, press enter.. and that's only 3 feak'in letters.
I have a garmin nuvi attached to the lower left corner of the windshield. The same addresses took me less than 1 1/2 minutes to input. Tap, tap tap, 3 letters done.
Acura has no business being in the gps business.
As much as I bitch about the nav system, I'm pleased with most everything else of my new RDX..

I've only used the nav once and didn't care for it. It would have had me make a turn into a retention pond (large body of water) and I was glad it was daylight or I would have probably followed the directions. Apple carplay and android carplay have been in cars for quite some time (many since 2014), to include Hondas, but they have not made it to the RDX yet. Perhaps the next generation of RDX will have it.

Advanced
I use to go into "MyAcura" --->. Maps, enter the address I wanted to go to and hit send. When I got in my RDX and started it - there it was! So darn easy. Well, that feature no longer works and Acura admits they are having problems with it. Acura has supplied links for Android app and iOS app, but the iOS app does not work, so I can't use that either. I tried to manually input the address but after I had input "Avia ...... " there were no more letter, so I could not finish inputting the address. I guess I am going to have to leave my Garmin in the console.
