2015 RDX P0455 Code

This code came on today, I plugged my code reader in and saw P0455 Evaporative Emmission System Leak Detected (Large Leak). First thing I checked was the gas cap. It was tight, seal is still in very good condition. Rubbed a bit of synthetic grease on it and put it back. The vehicle has 200,000 kms. From what I've read on line it might be a vent pressure sensor, $148 here at the local Honda dealer. Just wondering if anyone else had the same issue. Btw, the car appears to be running fine so far no other issue. Any help appreciated.

So it looks to me that they charged $190 just to run the test BUT found nothing wrong at that moment in time? Yesterday I checked my Honda Civic cap and what do ya know, it's identical to the Acura cap. Honda very likely uses the same caps for all models, btw my civic is a 2011. I swapped the caps on both vehicles just to see if it was indeed the cap. I cleared the code with my code reader and am waiting to see if it comes back on before I start to look at the other components like the canister purge valve, fuel tank pressure sensor, or canister vent valves. Appreciate your reply, I'll update if I find something else.

You are correct. They found nothing and I paid $190 for the inspection. When I spoke with the advisor, he seemed to suggest that it was a software glitch. I felt it was unfair for me to pay for a software glitch, but the warranty was already over so I didn't really complain.

They did not "do nothing" they performed technical service bulletin # 14-053 & applied the software update listed therein.

$190. Is probably an hour of tech time at an Acura dealer. Would be $100-120. At a Honda dealer.

I think one one might be able to argue that this is or should be covered under the emissions warranty.
