Let It Snow

Just past Limon, CO on I-70 Friday driving home with a 40 mph wind out of the north. This one got me a radar fault message until we thawed out.

I've had the same issue with my MDX when the ACC sensor was covered in slushy road muck. I ended up switching to just regular cruise control until I was able to drive out away from the muck. I figured the CMBS system was also not working since they use the same radar sensors.

One of the other issues is that LED lights don't generate enough heat to melt the snow off. Particularly an issue with the headlights. Fortunately (or unfortunately), we haven't had any snow here this winter to make that a problem.

What winter snow is to your MDX sensors, Spring/ Summer bugs are to my RDX that has 2 cameras behind the rear-view mirror. I discovered that a bug just has to hit the windshield in front of the camera's view and it will affect the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and the LKAS. The solution is to keep a small bottle of water and a couple of paper towels in the centre console.

I started packing the Windex flat packs in both cars because of summer bugs ($3, 28 sheets). I place them in a ziploc bag so they don't dry out and sometimes add some extra windex to them for extra cleaning power. A lot of times the windshield cleaner at a gas stations are either dry or the solution is too dirty/smelly.

Thanks, mrgold35 for that tip. I don't believe I have every noticed that product but will look for them next trip to grocery store/ WalMart. Yes, those squeegies at gas stations can be gross!
