LED license plate

Hey everyone! I just purchased a new RDX. Has anyone tried changing their license plate bulbs? I want to change it to something brighter. I looked at it and it looks like a pain in the ass to change. Any inputs?

Thanks in advance!

You don't really need to close this thread... How about you post which LED license plate bulbs you bought. Online or BM, links to it, the cost, pictures of before/after, or even whether it was as easy as the manual explains to remove. I'm curious to hear from someone who's done it, before I do it on mine.

thanks!

^I got my LED bulbs from VLEDS.COM.

http://www.vleds.com/6k-white-4-led-...58-1-pair.html

The output is really bright. I've used the same bulbs on my TL prior to my RDX. I've been using them for a year and the output is still strong. I used a brand new pair on my RDX just because the RDX is brand new :P

NOTE: I am not responsible for any failures or uneventful things that may occur upon changing them. I know for a fact that the dealership may or may not revoke the warranty on our RDX.

Here are some pictures(quality might not be the best since I used my phone to upload them)

RDX

That is super bright. I think I'm going to go with the 5k with an output of 3 or 4 from VLED.

LEXEN (lexenauto.com) has an affordable bulb replacement LED for the license plate. I am using the 9-SMD lights on the license plate and front door courtesy light locations. The 20-SMD light panels look great on the inside of the tailgate too. Purchased the circular panel LED for the rear dome light but it looks too blue to me, looking for an LED that better matches the front map lights.

Get the Sylvania LEDriver bulbs, more expensive but better and longer lasting than any of the others out there.

Hi, Is it easy to change that bulb? Do you need to remove the panel on the trunk door to change it or is the bulb on the outside?

Very easy, remove the panel on the inside of the lift gate and the bulb housings each pop out.

Just an update (and i'll post up pics monday) To change rear reverse bulb is fairly easy and I was able to do this all within 15min. I installed 15w Hids for my reverse lights

I bought VLEDs 5k one element 80 lumens, in order to get a more OEM MDX looking style.

Here you can tell the difference with the stock one.

Swapping the 6ks out for 5k's today. Need a more natural OEM look. Ordered 5k's from Vleds. Very high quality. Will update my build thread later tonight.

Did you get the 80 lumens (1 led) or 160 lumens (4 leds)?
I think the 80 lumens is the closest to the OEM ones mounted on the MDX, I really like the way those look.
