I would like to purchase a new floor jack and a set of jack stands for occasional use - tire rotations, brake jobs, oil changes, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations for brands / places to buy? I don't want cheap Harbor Freight junk unless they have some good quality items as well.
Besides the standard jack points in the attached PDF, are there any other spots I can use for the floor jack on the RDX? I specifically want to be able to lift just one side of the car (left or right) and place it on jack stands.
Also looking for a decent 1/2" impact wrench - any recommendation on that?
This floor jack has a U shaped contact pad for the Acura jack points to slide a jack stand into place. I already had jack stands and wheel chock I purchases years ago on Amazon. I have a bunch of Ryobi tools (sander, blower, fan, angle grinder, lights, jig saw, buffers, etc...) and batteries. I just needed to purchase the P262 1/2 impact wrench tool only for around $100. I also have a tq wrench, Ryobi P747 tire inflator, and non-marring lug nut socket (impact to take off lugs, tq wrench to put on lugs).
For a floor jack, I went with a Torin Big Red—solid quality and not crazy expensive. For jack stands, I’d suggest looking at ESCO; they’re super sturdy and have flat rubber tops that are gentle on your car’s jack points. As for jacking one side of the car, I’d stick to the reinforced pinch welds or frame rails. Just double-check your manual to be safe!

and for the impact wrench, I’ve been using a Milwaukee M18 1/2" cordless, and it’s been a beast for everything from lug nuts to stubborn bolts.
If you’re thinking of future upgrades, I’d recommend a scissor lift nz from Astrolift. I eventually added one, and it’s made jobs like brake work so much easier.
