nexus 5/kit Kat enables full function bt

My nexus4 was good for calls and music streaming. An update to it added music data,song title, artist, album info. Now nexus 5 with kit Kat allows text features to work.

I have a HTC DNA from Verizon with version 4.1.1, and my text works.

Yes, that's due to HTC and their skin over android. Not everyone had that. 4.4 looks like it's got the proper coding for everybody else to catch up.

I just updated my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to Kit Kat (4.4.2) and lost the messaging capabilities, i keep getting "Not available during HFL Busy" ... what version of HFL do you guys have?

Does the texting function work if you have a base and not the tech package rdx?

yes

On the nexus5 Google forced hangouts on us and eliminated the stock texting app. I ended up going into the play store and getting a messaging replacement app.
