iPhone ISO 6 and the RDX info

I am having the same issues with an ILX Hybrid Tech and the iPhone 5 with updated IOS 6.01 software. Can make calls fine, but when i try to answer there is silence on both ends. Is there a way to "reset" hands free link? Maybe like a hard restart or refresh that might solve it?
As with most computers the first advice from IT people is to restart the system. So any clue on how to do this aside from turning the car on and off?

It was working great when I was on older version of iOS.

The Acura HandsFreeLink website officially states that we can't get incoming calls or send texts.
The comments section:

iPhone5 and 2013 RDX experience
I was in my car for 6.5 hours and called and received multiple people, while I was driving I decided to try a few different approaches to see how they worked and was surprised by the results below:
Inbound Calls:
1) From Navigation Menu
a. Notification of incoming call
b. Use the answer button from on the steering wheel
c. iPhone5 shows connected to handsfree via bluetooth but no sound
d. Press the Phone button to flip from Navigation to Phone Menu
e. Hit enter to transfer from car to cell phone and then back to car - so it enter x2
f. Can now talk via handsfree system in car
2) From Phone Menu
a. Notification of incoming call
b. Use the answer button from the steering wheel
c. iPhone shows connected to handsfree via bluetooth but no sound
d. Hit enter to transfer from car to iphone and back to car - so hit enter x2
e. Can now talk via handsfree system in car.
3) From Audio Menu -- works as it should the first time!
a. Notification in incoming call
b. Use the answer button from the steering wheel
c. Allows iPhone to be connected via handsfree and can talk via handsfree system in the car.
Outbound Calls:
1) Handsfree by using the voice dial - works the first time and connects the call
2) Voice dial using saved speed dial numbers - works the first time and connects the call
3) If dialing from the phone or using address book from the phone,
a. must be in Phone menu mode
b. dial the call on the iPhone
c. choose handsfree bluetooth option
d. Hit enter to transfer the call from the phone to the car
e. can talk via handsfree system in the car
What I found very interesting is that while you state that it is the iPhone5's programming issue that is the cause of the problem, why does it work just fine from the Audio menu (which had zero changes in updates)?
I know that the Phone menu did change as I have used the phone book while driving in the past and no longer can do this now
You mentioned that there was a navigation change that was sent out, is it possible that between the two changes in the Navigation and the Phone menu that this is also the cause of the problems?
After all this, I did call Apple again and the woman has a new BMW running the same Handsfree link software and she just brought it into her dealer and got a firmware update....sigh!

2013 RDX with iPhone 5 solution to answering calls
I have been bugging handsfree( useless) and Apple (finally got a good tech), the answer is so simple that Apple told me about it but Handsfree seems more concerned with pointing fingers at Apple instead of just suggesting you call you Acura dealership and ask them for the firmware upgrade!!! I called my Acura service center and sure enough, it exists for the iphone5.
I tried last Thursday and they ran into some bugs but going back in on Monday for them to finally fix it but according to the firmware notes, it should solve a lot of the issues on this thread.

A Small Example Of Two But Success May Have Occurred
Lisa in case you didn't see this post of mine in an adjoining thread here, it is below. I posted it @ approx 1730 here on 28 Jan., mind updating us here or in the other thread if this solves your issue?
Well The 6.1 Update Appears To Work
A sample of one but I just received my first incoming call on my i5 using the HFL. One can only hope I am the 1st of many here that have the same outcome.
I merely downloaded the 6.1 iOS update, had someone call, used the HFL to answer them & boom we connected, no dealer vist whatsoever.

Downloading IOS 6.1 but Acura has my car :)
I'll definitely try this with the 2012 MDX sitting in my driveway as a loaner after the update finishes...thanks for letting me know about the update before Apple did I know that it didn't work yesterday when I picked it up. Hopefully the firmware update that Acura is trying to do with my car doesn't break it...

Update tested new 6.1 update in 2012 MDX (no firmware update) and you can now answer calls in the car...but you can't call from your phone and leverage the handsfree unless you hit the transfer button in the car. iPhone update did fix the fact that it now defaults to the handsfree which is a plus.

iOS 6.1 - iPhone 5
I successfully received a call in my car (2013 RDX non tech) through HFL and iPhone5 after updating my phone to iOS 6.1.
It wasn't working before the 6.1 update.

I also updated my iPhone to IOS 6.1 and so far so good. I can receive the phone call. Incoming call was not working before updating to iOS 6.1.

Text functionality works on 2013 RDX with iPhone IOS 6.1. You now have the options to do replies (pre-selected choices from the Nav system). Picking up calls seems to be fixed now too.

Are you using an iPhone 4s or 5? What exact version of iOS do you have?
I'm running iPhone 4s with 6.1.3 and while I can make calls with no problem and it reads my texts just fine, I can't send messages via the pre-selected choices.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

I should clarify: my questions steams from your mention of an "aftermarket" button. All I have seen is Eyes Free being a feature, not quite aftermarket, that should work with the
"Speak" button.
Thanks!

2014 RDX with Tech Pkg and iPhone 5S running IOS 8.02
Hello,
I am just crashing this forum. My RDX was working fine with my iPhone 5S until I updated to IOS 8. IOS 8.02 seems even worse. Text messaging is 100% non op now. At least with IOS 7 the car would read me the first 100 characters (or so) through the speakers while driving. I did not discover how to reply by voice to text, or even an automated, “driving now - get back to you later”
But now from the Acura control panel, it reads “device not recognized” under text message. That goes for blue tooth, USB or both.
Is this an IOS 8 issue, or do I need to reset something on the Accura?
