2016 RDX Homelink issue
when we picked up our '17' yesterday I was not looking forward to learning 5 openers with rolling code.
the Service tech adviser said if you have a hand held remote try holding it close to the homelink and press 1 of the 3 buttons and the opener at the same time...worked for me.
I was amazed, my other homelink cars did not do this.

Depends on the opener. Some of the newer Chamerlain/Liftmaster models with the Security+ 2.0 technology require a special transmitter from Chamberlain to work with Homelink.
For the OP, have you tried clearing your Homelink?

I know this is an old thread, but I had real issues getting Homelink programmed for my older Overhead Door system. I was doing everything I was supposed to, but no joy. It just would not take the signal.
Based on an idea I got from the web somewhere, I bought a name brand opener specifically for my door (not a generic knockoff) and tried. It worked immediately. I think the generic openers send out a very weak signal, and it apparently takes strong one to program the Homelink button in the car. Anyway, problem solved for the price of a good remote (now stored in the cabinet until next time!).
