2015 RDX Siri Eyes Free Mode - Not available!

I recently bought a 2015 RDX Tech and learned that it does not have Siri Eyes Free Mode. Contacted Acura and Acura Client relations called to tell me that Siri Eyes Free is not available in 2015 even though its a carryover system from 2013/2015.

Their advice: keep calling the dealership. Maybe one day the engineers will update the software.

I am so disappointed and upset. Siri Eyes Free Mode was one of the key reasons I purchased a Acura RDX.

Lovin' my new RDX a little less.

I just picked up a 2015 RDX w/Tech and AWD this weekend. Before I drove the car off the lot they updated the software to support Siri Eyes Free mode. Cost me $130.

I have a client that was just told "answer A" as in the OPs post. I'm curious, did your dealer simply to the upgrade even though Acura says it's not compatible?

There was no discussion about any incompatibility. Before taking the car home they made the needed software changes and off I went. It's interesting that Acura would say it's not comparable when I can tell you first hand it works just fine. No issues at all making, receiving calls or using Siri. I'd really, really hope Acura would be smart enough to build safeguards into the software update process where as you couldn't flash new software if certain conditions aren't met first.

I'd also be curious to know who folks are talking to when they say it isn't compatible. The Acura dealer or actually Acura.

I have a client who was told it was not compatible by our service department. I haven't spoken with them yet, I wanted to learn more first. Perhaps there is a problem with verbiage? With hands-free link and phone compatibility they will often say "not compatible" when they haven't fully tested it yet. It doesn't mean that if you try it won't work. Perhaps it is this way with the 2015 models? It hasn't been tested and vetted so they say "not compatible"? Thank you for taking the time to reply.

hi unxadm --

I am in the same situation, I literally just purchased my 2015 RDX with the tech pkg. I also bought the car for the reason, for the siri option....

any advice would be deeply appreciated!!

What dealership did you go to?

I asked Center Acura (in Cali-- a day or two ago) if they can somehow install it and they said that it isn't compatible....which sounds like a sign of laziness or BS...

Can yo share a little more detail of how you accomplished this feat? hahah

Any update on this? Considering buying a 2015 RDX w/ Tech package. Have they fixed the "compatibility" issues with Siri eyes free yet? If not, which years of RDX work with Siri eyes free?

Any folks successfully using an iPhone 6 with Siri Eyes free on an Acura RDX 2015 with tech package? I just drove home with this new car and a bit devastated this doesn't work so I'm hoping there's a fix or work around, especially since it apparently worked with the 2014 model (although unclear if that was compatible with the iPhone 6). Is there a particular software version # that works as referenced in a previous post? Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

Hi,
What dealership did you buy your RDX from? I took mine in Saturday to our local dealership to get it added and they said they could not connect to the HFL Software. Unfortunately, I drove away without it.
Would really love to have it.

Any information is greatly appreciated.

I had no issues installing the update myself on my 2013 RDX in about 10 minutes. I would think that, if it worked on a 2013, it would work on a 2015 too. I found instructions on this site 3 years ago after the dealer said they tried and couldn’t figure it out (I work in IT). I can’t remember if it was free or not to get the download and the software to push the download, but if there was a cost, it was nominal. It does require a Windows laptop with Bluetooth, though. Never had any connection issues with my 6S either.

They superseded the HFL part number (at least in the 2015) and the replacement part will not do Siri...search for the thread on the 2nd gen main forum

Can you send me instructions how I can do this? Would appreciate it
